 PSCS3/VISTA.
I was working from a lo-res version of Atropos by Francisco Goya to do my study and I recently found a hi-res version. Now I have to rework the entire understructure of the drawing to compensate for the new information. I'll be taking a break from this until the weekend when I have time to really get down to work.Labels: atropos, black paintings, francisco goya, study |

Vermillion pencil on 8.5X11 Ivory Cartridge Paper.
Drawing the figure will always identify an area where one needs to improve whether it is line, tone, perspective or composition. It is a constant process of self-correction and improvement. That is the challenge that drives me to seek out a class every week.
This was a terrific model because of his sinewy form and experienced character. a personal favorite & longer pose from life drawing class.Labels: life drawing, sketchbook |

This is the last page from a 13-14 page critique Alex Toth gave Steve Rude in regards to a comic Rude was working on. The critique itself is notorious for the brutality Toth unleashed on Rude and has been circulated throughout the net on most illustration sites. I've always found this page very inspirational and compelling because of how Toth articulates the thought process behind art.Labels: alex toth, critique, steve rude |

Been attending The Keyhole Sessions lately as a supplement to my regular life drawing course. Their tagline is "The raciest life-drawing class you'll ever experience." boy, do they ever mean it. The models are partly costumed and partly sassy. Anyone interested in an alternative to life drawing and live in the Toronto area come on down.
I'll be there sketchbook and pencil ready to record all the debauchery Keyhole Sessions has to offer.Labels: life drawing, sketchbook, the keyhole sessions |
